Childhood Should Remain Childhood
War takes away children’s sense of safety, their familiar daily routine, and the presence of the people they love most.
Children whose parents were killed, wounded, or went missing while defending Ukraine require particular care and support.
The Ukraine Is You Foundation regularly supports such families, helping not only with essential items, but also through attention, communication, and activities that bring positive emotions back into children’s lives.
Who We Help
The project was created for children whose parents:
- were killed while defending Ukraine;
- sustained serious injuries;
- went missing;
- are undergoing long-term treatment or rehabilitation;
- are unable to fully provide for their family’s needs due to the consequences of the war.
Assistance is provided on a targeted basis after an application has been submitted, the information has been verified, and the family’s current needs have been assessed.
What Support Children Receive
Depending on the child’s age and the family’s circumstances, we may provide:
- clothing and footwear;
- care products;
- stationery;
- books and educational materials;
- toys and gifts;
- arts, crafts, and developmental materials;
- back-to-school assistance;
- holiday gift packages.
We strive to consider the individual needs of every child.
Holiday and Support Activities
In addition to material assistance, the Foundation organizes activities for children, including:
- holiday gatherings;
- creative workshops;
- gift-giving events;
- recreational and educational activities;
- meetings with volunteers.
These events create a space where children can feel seen, supported, and genuinely cared for.
Why Long-Term Support Matters
A child’s needs change as they grow. A one-time gift can bring joy, but consistent support helps a family address real everyday challenges.
Regular donations allow us to:
- prepare assistance for holidays and the start of the school year;
- provide children with essential items;
- organize activities and events;
- stay in contact with families;
- respond more quickly to individual requests.
How You Can Get Involved
You can:
- make a donation;
- purchase essential items;
- prepare a gift for a child;
- provide educational materials;
- help organize an event;
- become a partner in a long-term support programme.
Before donating items or gifts, please contact the Foundation to confirm the children’s ages and current needs.
Protecting Children’s Privacy
We take the safety and privacy of minors seriously.
Children’s personal information, stories, and photographs are published only when it is appropriate and has been approved by their legal representatives.
For this reason, reports relating to this area of work may not contain complete information about every recipient.
Give a Child the Feeling That They Are Not Alone
Your contribution helps provide essential items, organize a celebration, or simply remind a child that there are people who care.
